This week has been AMAZING for digging. I came across so many Vintage Sunglasses i haven't even seen before. One of my favorites was this enormous Vintage Carrera 5556 Sunglasses. It was told to me by the rep that they were very late 70's. The frame is massive, even on me!

I am always upset to see a company retro a product when they cant even do it justice due to production limits. Carrera is no exception. Their garbage new production methods have ruined their old models. Real enthusiasts seek out the original Optyl made vintage frames. I am always blown away by peoples false sales pitches. My favorite of the Vision Expo East was that of Porsches. Now i know not every dude walking this show has my knowledge, but, regardless you should stick to the truth. I was pitched on the new revival line from Porsche at the show. Besides for the bullshit coming out of their mouth, they asked me what frame i was wearing, which just happened to be a Vintage Porsche. According to them, no Porsches were made with changeable lenses, as well as Yoko Ono was rocking Vintage Porsche 5621's on the cover of Rolling Stones mag. I took the time to give these dudes a little history lesson. Maybe they will get the point and start making better retro models. Vintage Sunjet Sunglasses were made by Carrera. It was an attempt at a lower price point frame where they could try more cutting edge designs and have them sold to the masses. Lots of the designs are very wacky! This Vintage Sunjet 5251 sunglasses are one of the more fun models form the line. Thanks to Solaris for the pictures!!!

Rihanna is seen rocking a pair of Carrera Endurance Sunglasses in her new Rude Boy video. Many artists have been seen in the Vintage Carrera Edurance Sunglasses, but never have i seen someone in the retro version. The retro version has been made sleeker as the vintage version was much heavier then this model!
