From The Desk Of Dr. Shapiro: Old Gold The Vintage Versace Look
I was influenced by three things fashion wise in my life, Old clothing dudes that would meet up for breakfast in the morning, Biggie, and Mr. T! For those of you who pay attention, my attire is generally a combo of these three aspects! Versace played a huge roll in the overwhelming demand for gold in the late 80's and early 90's. From garments, to jewelry, and then to sunglasses and eyewear. Vintage Sunglasses of the 1990's was dripping with gold. With the price of the gold back then being lots less then it is now. it was very common to see frames having actual gold plating. Even cooler then the regular gold plating was the use of the triple dip and colouring of the gold. That is what added to the yellow colouring and extended quality of the gold Vintage Eyewear. Most noted in the period of old gold was Biggie who in many peoples minds made Vintage Versace Sunglasses into the iconic wear it is today. Whatever the reason is the old gold look is the way to go. Gold, Gold, Gold… we pity the fool that can't get it!
