In the late 1950’s, designers at Persol used the same shape as the 0649 to create a very unique sunglass frame, the difference: a foldable frame. The Persol 0714 was produced for tram drivers in Turin, Italy. Its large frames offered protection to the drivers from dust and other occupational hazards. Today it is a rare collectors item worn by many celebrities such as Beyonce, Orlando Bloom and Swizz Beatz.
