Vintage Frames Company Community Project: Teki Latek

Name:
Teki Latex
Age: 32
Job: Rapper turned house music vocalist, DJ, one of the bawses of a label called Sound Pellegrino.

Who Are You:
I'm from Paris, i used to rap in a band called TTC, i co-founded the labels Institubes and Sound Pellegrino, i DJ all over the world, i'm a lover of fine cuisine and original clothing.

What is your most prized pair of Vintage Frames and why:
Brown Versace shades with the medusa face on the side. These are the iconic Biggie sunglasses, i wanted them but couldn't afford them/didn't dare to walk around the city carrying such an expensive accessory with me when i was a young teen. Now i'm a big dude i feel like it makes more sense.

What is your earliest memory of a pair of frames that stuck in your head until today:
The glasses in that movie  "they live" that enabled you to see the aliens. That or Elton John shades from the muppet show.

If you could stumble upon 1 pair of Vintage Frames, what would it be:

Another pair of Biggie Versace shades, with a diamond-encrusted geometric form on the branch. I'm sure Corey will have them waiting next time i come to Montreal! lol

About how many Vintage Frames do you have in your collection:
One! haha

Why do you choose Vintage Frames instead of new eyewear:
Because i'm less likely to see these pairs on the face of every douche bag walking around the city. Because Corey Shapiro is an excellent salesman who tells a great story behind each of the items he sells. He makes the buying experience enjoyable and makes you feel like you're really purchasing a piece of hip hop / fashion / pop culture history when he sells you a pair of vintage frames. Let me put it this way: spending a couple of hours in his office is like going to the museum, hearing cool stories, learning a few things and on the way out you buy a really cool souvenir that you're actually gonna wear all the time, and that's really something that cannot happen in every store.
